BIOGRAPHY

Thorsten was born in 1972 in Dortmund where he grew up and studied computer science. In the early 80's Thorsten's Parents started Square Dancing and Thorsten's father Jens soon became club caller of the Square Dance Club "Kohlenpott-Hoppers" in Dortmund.

In 1986 Thorsten joined a Mainstream Class and learned his first steps like "DOSADO" from his father. 1987 he was graduated and became interested in calling. With the support of his father Jens, having the opportunity to using all his equipment and with a lot of appreciation and support of the members of the "Kohlenpott-Hoppers" Thorsten started calling in 1989 and also presented his first singing calls at the Student-Dance 1989 (the big Student Festival hosted by the "Kohlenpott-Hoppers"). From that day on he became a permanent caller of the annual Student-Dance (alongside Thorsten Geppert) and improved year by year.

Talking of Thorsten Geppert: He is the one idol, who supported and still supports Thorsten as much as possible. (Thanks for that).

After some time (1991) Thorsten Hubmann became the club caller of the "Kohlenpott-Hoppers" and started calling in the area around Dortmund, like Duesseldorf, Solingen and Soest. In 1995 Thorsten decided to move to Niederkassel, close to Bonn/Köln, where he still lives today. Thorsten is now calling for the Triangle Squares in Solingen and the Rhine Stones 666 in Niederkassel, and does frequent guest appearances in the area upon request.

Thorsten has enjoyed being on the programme at Special Dances & Conventions in countries like France, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republik, Switzerland and of course Germany. His current calling programmes are Basic through A2.

• Student Dance in Dortmund (always lot of fun with Thorsten Geppert, best special ever)
• Tripple Six Highlight in Niederkassel (a special that I built up)
• IPAC in Barmsted (I'm very proud that I'm asked to call this special)
• Plus Ski-Week in Mandling (I meet many nice people there: Ski & Dosado: perfect)
• Olpe Plus/A1/A2 Weekends (great dancers and nice afterpartys)

Thorsten is very proud that he became the opportunity to join the Staff of SNOW in 2005.
