PICTURES FROM THE NASHVILLE TRIP, AUGUST 2004 PART 3
United Record Pressings Inc. where all of the "dreams" become pressed in plastic! This building has a history of association with more stars from all
different genres of music than even I could begin to list! Write any ten names down on a piece of paper and you would probably find 8 or more were
"pressed" into stardom here!
Eileen - the lovely lady who greeted us - and gave us the "Ten-Cent Tour". Like all the employees at United, she was courteous, friendly and - despite a
very heavy workload - was only too pleased to see us and take the time to show us around.
A rose between two thorns…? The young lady in the middle is Beth - probably the most important person at United. Beth deals with all aspects of production
and co-ordinates all the elements to ensure that the new vinyls are pressed!
Myself and Søren in the shadow of United… Who Needs Disneyland? More magic here than in the old Buena Vista Orangery in Anaheim!
Mike Johnstone - the Steel and Dobro player on our second day in the studio - please note, the picture is fuzzy, not Mike!
Søren Christensen, outside the Country Music Hall of Fame in downtown Nashville. Poor Søren was more than a little upset to see that there was no exhibit of
Sting and Snow Records within…
Ricky Skaggs, on stage, at the Grand Old Opry. He was the "headliner" on the day that we attended. I knew he could sing - but you should have heard him play
that Mandolin - WOW!
One of those "white-knuckle-ride" places… Not my "cup-of-tea", I'm afraid but Søren and Carsten had a good time. I held their coats wallets and cameras…
Inside the "Kentucky Kingdom"; fast rides, water and even somewhere to stand and get soaked, if you didn't want to take the ride - they think of everything!
