| STING AND SNOW PRODUCTIONS - DECEMBER 2008 NEWS-LETTER |
December is soon upon us and - as I write this month's News-Letter - I am told (by the weatherman) that we should expect "arctic conditions" (does that mean
that we shall soon have Polar Bears walking in the streets)?
The good news is that we are close, once again, to the Christmas Holiday and will be thinking of things to buy for those we love.
No doubt most good callers are receiving "gentle" enquiries - from their club leaders - as to the type of thing that would make their Christmas, perfect…
Here's a suggestion: how about the club signing up for their caller to receive all the new releases from Sting and Snow over the next 12 months? They can do
that from this web-site (just return to the home page and click on the animated advertisement to see the sign-up details and form). Don't forget, if they do
sign their club caller up to receive the records (or if any caller decides to treat themself at Christmas) s/he will also receive a "bumper bundle" of older
releases - at no additional charge (except for the postage).
…well I am just trying to have the happiest possible Christmas…
With that thought in mind, I would like to extend heartfelt and sincere wishes to all of you for a very merry Christmas and the happiest possible New Year!
On a more "news-worthy" note, I want to let everybody know that I have managed to "return to availability" two of our older patter records (four instrumentals).
Up until recently, all of our patter records were still available in vinyl - except for SIR 502 B.J. / Piece of Cake and SNW 501 Snow / Flake; both of these
could no longer be re-pressed as the pressing plates had been "junked" by the pressing plant. Re-pressing either of these two records was financially
impossible - although there was a very high demand for the music.
So, in an attempt to overcome this problem, these tracks have been re-released as the flip sides of four new records; three of these have recently been
released, these were - SIR 522 B.J. (Big John) / L.J. (Little John), SNW 513 Ice / Snow, SNW 514 Flake / Fluke and the fourth record SIR 523 Cup of Tea /
Piece of Cake is due for release in June 2009.
If you are looking for these older tracks, or if you come across anybody who has been searching "high and low" to get-a-hold of these old classics, please let
them know that they have been (effectively) "re-released". Also, if you are looking for some super new music, with a full Nashville sound, please take the time
to listen to the audio samples of the new sides of these releases - you will not be disappointed!
