STING AND SNOW PRODUCTIONS - JANUARY 2009 NEWS-LETTER

Last month I told you that the weathermen had warned us to expect Arctic conditions - there was even a real chance of a "White Christmas"! As it turned out, the only "White Christmas" was on our TV - as my wife, Hazel, played the DVD of Bing Crosby's famous film. No sign of snow (at least not here in the London area), aside that is from the boxes of Snow records that sit alongside the boxes of Sting records in our house!

The good news is that we are now "embarking" upon another year and - with all due sincerity - I trust that it will prove to be a great year for Square Dancing and for Square Dancers everywhere; as well as for Callers (of course).

On a more "news-worthy" note, here's an "up-date" on one of our on-going projects:

In March 2007 we started to release, on CD, all the tunes from our back-catalogue that had not been previously released in that format. Since October 2005, every new release on Sting and Snow has been released on CD, as well as in the Vinyl and MP3 formats. However, at that time we were still playing "catch-up" with tunes that had not been released in the MP3 format. In January 2006 we began offering these "catch-up" tunes on both MP3 and on CD - we finally finished the MP3 "catch-up" in February 2007 - but this still left 130 tunes that were not available in CD, which we then started releasing, at the rate of three per month.

As at January 2009 we have released 68 of these 130 titles on CD (leaving 62 to go), so we are about half way through this project. You may like to know that - as a consequence of this - I can confirm that all of our patter tunes are now available in all three formats, so if there's one that you want it will be there to be purchased; just check out the listing at dosado.com to buy a copy!

When we started this CD catch-up project I made the offer to "bring forward" the release of any tune that is not yet available on CD, this offer still stands. So - if there is a tune that is not shown as available on CD, on the dosado.com web-site, that you would like to have - let me know and I will move that title up the list and make it available sooner; I am always more than happy to respond to our customer's wishes!
