STING AND SNOW PRODUCTIONS - MARCH 2004 NEWS-LETTER

Hello and welcome (back) to the new, greatly improved, Sting and Snow web-site.

First, let me say "thanks" for all the feedback that we have received about the new format for the web-site. A lot of positive comments, one or two constructive suggestions - all very much appreciated; please continue to let us know what you think about this site.

NEWS - GENERAL:
The highlight of last month (February) was the Sting Festival in Stockholm, Sweden, which was hosted by our friends in the Bålsta Square Dance Club. We had a good group of dancers and some really great fun; a very special party atmosphere was present, throughout the weekend. I am very much hoping that we shall be able to return to the same venue, next year, keep an eye on the Festivals link for details!

THIS MONTH'S NEW MUSIC:
During March we will be releasing four pieces of music.

First of these will be on Snow Records: "A Coin In The Fountain" with Maarten Weijers on the vocal. This is a tune with an easily sung lyric that has been specially written and recorded for Square Dancing and features our Danish Band (Gammeldansk) who are using their outstanding musical prowess to provide a strong rhythm track and first class lead instrumentation. Second is a patter/hoedown record from Sting Records, entitled: "Footloose / Fancy Free". Footloose is another of our extremely successful "modern-electronique" pieces of music, recorded for us by our Swedish Impresario (Swedish Mushroom). Fancy Free has been recorded with traditional "Nashville" instrumentation by our American group (Days 'n' Nights). All in all, two records but - three brand new pieces of music for March; now that's value for money!

The other two releases are the MP3 files of "The Rose" with Carsten Nielsen and "How Much I love You" with Wil Stans. These two tunes have previously only been available in vinyl but - as we now have the MP3 licences - we are happy to offer these for sale in this electronic format.

All of our new music, in both vinyl or MP3 format can be purchased on-line from our Exclusive Master Stocking Distributor Hanhurst's Tape and Record Service at www.Dosado.com/Sir.htm

FUTURE RELEASES: (Full details of already recorded music on the Future Releases link)
Following our excellent trip to Nashville last November, we are planning another trip to Nashville, this year, (probably in September) and we need ideas for new music to record. Is there a song that you feel would "work" as a Square Dance singing call? If there is, please let us know and we will give it serious consideration!

All of our new tunes, together with other previously recorded tunes, will be released as soon as possible, bearing in mind the logistics of recording vocals etc.; to guarantee that you receive your copy as soon as it becomes available check out our Standing Order Offer.

RECENT RELEASES:
Our February re-releases of older music proved very successful and I am now looking at re-releasing some more of the old "Out-Of-Print" vinyls. Are there any tunes that you would like to see re-released? Let me know and I will see what can be done! Check out all of our releases on the New Releases link. To buy all of our music and to hear the older tunes try the Buy The Music and Listen To The Music links.

Talk to you again next Month!

Go Squareful! - Paul Bristow (Owner and Producer Sting and Snow Records)
