| STING AND SNOW PRODUCTIONS - MARCH 2008 NEWS-LETTER |
Here in the U.K., March is the month of high winds… The blasts of Mother Nature's "breath" - blow away the old and makes way for the new. So I shall be
expecting some extreme weather in the next few weeks! Let's hope that there is some "good fortune" in the wind, we can all use a little of that!
During March CALLERLAB will be holding it's annual Convention, in Los Angeles - and - a part of that event will be special meeting of "Music Producers". This
is something in which I have played a major role. The intention is to bring together as many music producers as possible, initially at CALLERLAB and then on a
regular basis to consider the problems that we are facing and investigate ways to restore music production to a financially viable level. There are 45 active
record companies (a total of 100 labels still exist - in theory - but many companies feature more than one label), CALLERLAB has written to all of these
companies and the response that we have received is very healthy.
I have no idea what the upshot of this meeting will be, nor can I say for sure what changes might be proposed but I know that there have to be changes. If any
of you have any ideas that might be helpful, please feel free to contact me - we want to "get it right" as quickly as possible!

High winds, gales, hurricanes, tornados, cyclones - all sounds like a load of "air" to me… but I shall be careful to wear warm clothes and check on the garden
fences, roof tiles etc. - Next month is April… as I recall that means rain (well showers, at least). I am ready for Summer… So, as long as I haven't been
"blown away" or "washed away", I will "speak" with you on the next NewsLetter (weather permitting)…
Go Squareful! - Paul Bristow (Owner and Producer Sting and Snow Records)
