| STING AND SNOW PRODUCTIONS - MAY 2008 NEWS-LETTER |
Here in Europe, May is the month for "May Poles", "May Queens" and other "fertility symbols" that refer back to the early days of our civilisation. Many other
parts of the world have similar festivals although, due to the angle of the Earth's axis, in the Southern Hemisphere these will start six months later
(in November, I assume?). As the first sunshine-filled, warmer days appear and as the early sprouts of Spring begin to grow into the full-grown crops of
Summer, we are all reminded of the fantastic world in which we live and how - at this time of the year - the "cycle" can be seen to be starting to flourish
again.
Here at Hapstow House, the Sting and Snow "machine" is moving forward, on to another season of new music; our "sprouts" are growing into "full-grown" ideas!
I have just booked the studio (in Nashville) and everything is set for September (traditionally the time of year when the full-grown crops are ready) and
another bountiful "harvest" of new (and exciting) songs.
First reports from the "Music Producers" meeting, held at this year's CALLERLAB are very encouraging; there was a good attendance, some very positive
discussion and the signs are that all the Producers will be working closer together, with the single aim of co-ordinating their actions, in an attempt to
continue with the production of new music. Hopefully, this could be the start of something big!
I will keep you informed…
Now for the other news:

Well that's all for this month. Now I have to put on my "Morris Dancer" outfit and head to the village green where the young maidens will dance around the
May-Pole - weaving the coloured ribbons into an intricate pattern to display their "fertility" - whilst I (and the other Morris Dancers) "bang our poles
together". After which, we shall repair to the village pub and consume large amounts of the local ale". See you next month…
