| STING AND SNOW PRODUCTIONS - NOVEMBER 2009 NEWS-LETTER |
November - the ninth month of the old Roman calendar but number eleven in our modern day count - strange how these type of things change… Curiously, in my
quixotic quest for quite interesting trivia, I uncovered another anomaly; did you know that, until 19BC, the Romans had eight days in a week? Their eighth day
was named Nundinae, which means "market day" and was placed at the end of the seven days that we now have. This eighth day was there to allow maximum trade as
there were no restrictions of any kind as to what you could do, sell, buy or where you could carry out transactions; there were restrictions on the other seven
days.
Perhaps that's what we need to sell more music: an "unrestricted trading day" once a week? I wonder if, possibly, that was what the Beatles were trying to
encourage in their song about eight days a week...?
There's not really much else to tell you this month; I am still trying to set-up a new recording session for 2010 and will let you know, through this
News-Letter as soon as we know for certain, either way.
However, one thing that does occur to me is that there has never been a better time to sign up to the Sting and Snow Standing Order Offer! If you do sign up
you will still get the twelve free records and will enjoy a one-dollar per title reduction on all new releases (available on Vinyl, CD and MP3 purchases) but -
as we will not be able to release two records per month until we have some new music to release - the cost to you for the first twelve months (the period that
you are obliged to buy all of our new releases) will be substantially lower than at any other time. Just a thought…
