| STING AND SNOW PRODUCTIONS - OCTOBER 2007 NEWS-LETTER |
October, as I mentioned last month, is that time of the year when I will embark on our annual "pilgrimage" to Nashville! All the musicians are confirmed, the
studio is booked, the flights and hotels are paid for, the preparatory work has all been done; all that remains is to DO IT!
However, I will interrupt myself here to say a special "thank you" to all of those of you who responded to my article in the August edition of DIRECTIONS
(CALLERLAB's publication). I have, so far had requests from five national Caller's Associations, to reproduce my article in their publications, in order to
get the word out to their members. Every reaction was positive, a few asked questions - the answers to which will be included in a future NewsLetter and quite
a few of you told me that you would be taking up my challenge, to purchase two new pieces of music, every month. If anyone missed the article, check the
September NewsLetter - it's not too late to respond.
Back to Nashville; this year we are recording 26 new pieces of music in the U.S. - six of which are hoedown (patter) tunes - which, together with what we still
have ready to release, will give us enough music for a while to come. We have a full range of old tunes, new tunes, country tunes, rock tunes, modern tunes
etc. etc.; I am sure that there will be something for everyone and can promise you that you will enjoy our music.
However, it's never too late to suggest new ideas. We plan another trip to Nashville in 2008 and will need to start looking at new tunes, worthy of recording
as Square Dances, very soon. So please put your "thinking caps" on and carry on sending us your ideas - your ideas are just like sunshine: they brighten up
our day, help us to keep on going (and growing) and we can never have too much!
Now for the other news:

Alright - now where did I put my bag of quarters and the street maps of Nashville? I wonder who will be playing at the Grand Ole Opry, while we are there?
Perhaps this time I will make it to Graceland (I have been promising myself that, for years).
Have a great month of calling and/or dancing "speak" with you next month!
